Please read before viewing!

Hey! If you're reading this, it means that you finally have access to one of my personal projects I've been working on for ages! Ever since 2022, this story has been in development and still has yet to be completed entirely. This story is something I've grown very fond of, as I'm also pretty attached to the character's I've created thus far. All that being said, I hope you enjoy this website. This page will display my main cast of 20. Other side characters will be displayed much later. I won't necessarily be explaining all of my story's lore, just the basic info and powers of my characters, who inspired each character, and notes in addition to what's already displayed about them.

I've tried my best to explain their power's in depth. Though I wanted to add visuals on how each power works, I fear that might've taken up a lot of my time. Not to mention I've been working on this all summer and I'm really exhausted, so just bare with me on the explanations and any flaws found here. ^^,Again, I hope you guys enjoy what I've prepared. I'm still pretty anxious to share this with other people.. But besides that, let's begin!

Trigger warning for imagery of SLIGHT blood/gore and other mentions of disturbing topics. Proceed with caution!

Hell's Side Up: How Did It Begin?

Around every 1-4 centuries, the higher-ups of the universe take a gamble as a form of entertainment from their mundane obligations. This system was set up by the highest power for the sake of order, as he found choosing a ruler himself to be biased. Yashashri of the Maudire Belt had taken the role as the victor. Ever since then, she depicts a well-established business woman, going by the name of 'Lady Y' (leader of YVES ASSN.), who so "effortlessly" climbed her way up the social ladder while partaking in clandestine operations that lead to her end goal of eradicating humanity, simply because she's evil. Nothing more!

ABOUT OUR MC

Now, Damini Ray is a semi-average young adult whose security job was ambushed by a mercenary position; a past she seemed to depart from that came as a hard blow to the face. With her need for extra money and the latent calamity found in her near future, she decides to take the job. Though, her boss becomes a pivitol aspect to the growing suspicions ever since gaining consciousness as a kid. It is now up to Damini and her comrades to one up her boss before humanity becomes no longer sacred.

Pre-existing works this story is inspired by:

Maudire BeltSheol BeltHush BeltSolace Belt
What you would call hell, where the damned remain. Maudire = To curse (doesn't always refer to hell, could simply just mean wishing bad fortune on someone as well)A place where dead souls remain, typically containing neutral souls yet they're not scrutinized. Meaning, whatever souls reside here will remain in the belt until they are restored, conjoined, or depleted.Where the highest power mainly resides despite being omnipotent. This is where there's a pause in everything in the universe; the other three higher ups are inactive, humanity doesn't exist, and the ruler is left in peace. Souls are erased from the previous centuries ruled when the highest power is a victor in the gamble.A place where souls who fought hard to redeem themselves in their past life reside. They're not subjected to being good or bad, yet how willing they were to transform themselves while providing a positive change to those around them, safest belt of the 4.

Explanation of How The Gamble Works

We all are aware that there's four higher ups. Yes, there is a dice they role from that is 12 sided. Each number represents a ruler.1 = 'Hush' (Highest power)
2 = 'Sheol'
3 = 'Maudire' (Lady Y)
4 = 'Solace'
The highest power roles first and usually loses. That means it goes to the ruler assigned after him. He then gets to decide a number to bet on. He can either bet on his own, or another person's. If he bets his own number and wins, that means he's applicable for ruling the amount of centuries the participant beforehand has ruled.For example, highest power ruled for 4 centuries. The second participant roles and gets his own number, meaning he gets to rule for 4 centuries as well.However, if he doesn't get his own number, then it goes to the next participant and the process continues. The gamble is complete once a number bet is properly placed and accurate. It works the same way if a higher up doesn't properly bet a number that isn't their own.

What does Hell's Side Up aim to cover?

Before delving in, I will like to say that this story does cover themes of all sorts of abuse, violence, self harm, suicide, and organ trafficking. Really, that's just to name a few. I advise you to proceed with caution if you ever intend on viewing my story in the future.Despite the story having common aspects, like having a ruler who's only goal is world domination (hehe >_<), this story focuses on the manifestation of people being opposites of each other despite having the same experiences. You have characters who grew into wealth, some who've been abandoned by their families, some that have been brainwashed, the list goes on. Point is, you'll see characters who appear to have been many people at once while still being themselves so to speak. This will especially be seen with my main character, as well as a few side characters from my main cast.This story also intends to cover shaky relationship dynamics, whether it be through power imbalances, miscommunication, one-sidedness, and so on. Rejection of conformity will also be shown as well through the  experience of specific queer characters. Topics of gender dysphoria will also be discussed, too. Can't go in too much about it of course!Lastly, this story intends to cover relationships with nihilism by giving characters a reminder that "Nothing else matters more than the present". This theme will be something that's not abruptly spoken of but shown frequently throughout the story.Though the story appears to be dark, I promise you it's not entirely like that. It's pretty unserious a good amount of the time anyway!

BOUNDARIES!!!

1. No changing the race and ethnicities of my OCs, whether it be drawing them as mixed or completely different from what they're presented as. I'm not against it entirely when it comes to things such as anime for a few reasons. However, I think it's pretty disrespectful if their ethnic backgrounds were changed since I HEAVILY value representation . Plus I think my characters are a bit too diverse  for anything to be changed about them (doesn't include drawing them in different cultural attire, though).2. Please absolutely NO NSFW of my characters! For one, I am a minor and don't intend on drawing my characters in a provocative manner anytime soon. I will be highly uncomfortable if someone decided to do so. I understand my cast is mostly full of adults, but it will eventually get weird on both my end and the person who decides to draw it. Plus it'll lead to further consequences so... Just don't.3. In terms of shipping, it's debatable. I'm not entirely against it as of now since each character's sexualities aren't mentioned. Honestly, just don't be weird with it (NO PROSHIP, THAT CRAP IS GROSS).4. Headcanonning is fine as long as it's not explicit or disgusting. Same case with shipping.5. Feel free to draw my characters, I seriously don't mind! It's okay to draw your characters with mine too, whether it be platonic or not. Just follow what I asked of, please!!!
